Moss will be deep as the primary kick returner on Sunday in Washington, replacing promising rookie Ahmad Bradshaw, who had a costly fumble last week against the Packers.
"I'm really looking forward to it," Moss said.
And Ross, who got some first-team reps during Wednesday's practice, will at least receive some snaps with the first-team defense, if not start, Sunday.
"We want to continue to accelerate him," Coughlin said. "Get him involved as much as we can; get him involved more. But then, of course, he has to hold up his end of the deal."
"If that happens, that'll be a blessing," Ross said of joining the starting 11. "If it comes, it comes."
Coughlin also stated that he was pleased with the recovery of RB Brandon Jacobs.
"He is coming along well," he said. "He feels good. If you didn't know differently, you would have him out there."
